Shake Shake Go – reaching for the skies… England skies that is

A MIXTURE OF 3 FRENCH AND TWO WELSH this pop folk band have come along way since their busking days around the streets of every known town in Britain and now, winning the hearts of a many around the nation.

I meet Poppy when we were next door neighbours back in late 2012 and I always loved listening to her angelic voice coming through the walls of the house….      The band began when Poppy Jones (lead singer) and Marc Le Goff met at Tech Music school in London around 2009/2010 and soon enough they realised they both shared the same music tastes and from there they started to write what would soon enough be catchy melodies and playing in prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall.

Joining them respectively were Killian Saubusse, Toby Barnet and Virgile Rozand. The five piece band knew they had alot of hard work ahead of them so off they went , instruments and all, piled into one car for a number of busking tours through out the country, trying to  gain the recognition they deserved. It is safe to say that it certainly paid off. Soon enough they were put on the bill for three of Frances biggest festivals over the summer last year – Musilac , Les Deferlantes, and Beauregaurd. Legendary Artists that included Jamiroquai, Blondie and Ben Howard were amongst some on the incredible acts playing.  But that’s not all….. they were then asked to perform as a support act for James Blunt on the UK leg of his tour only back in April this year, by someone who had spotted their amazing talents while playing at the Lexington in London. Of course James was delighted to have them on his tour.

They embarked through cities such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Wolverhampton, London and Bournemouth. Poppy tells me it was such a scary but surreal experience and one that she will never forget (im sure Mr Blunt was a very nice man!!)

With summer coming up that can only mean one thing – plenty of music festivals.  If you want to catch a glimpse of  them playing then perhaps it might be worth you heading to OsFest in Shropshire and Lodestar festival in Cambridge (just to name a few) where you will most certainly be captivated by their high energy drum performances, fun, fresh and harmonious sounds.
