NOIR – late – night – social – bar

Okay so we all know how much I love to be social bunny and seeing as though the West End is my neighbourhood for 45 hours of the week, I had to swing by and check out this recently new late night cocktail and wine bar in the very heart of it all.

Smack bang next to the very famous Selfridges and just a short stroll from Oxford Street makes it a prime location if you need some time out from all that shopping and fancy rewarding yourself with a crisp glass of wine or just an alcoholic beverage in general.   Their cocktail list is not to shabby and with plenty of choice. So much so that I had to ask for some assistance from our lovely waitress to point us in the right direction. (Talk about indecisive).

Kiss my deadly with some eye catching presentation going on. A very light Bellini (Champagne & gin) with a hint of lavender, was a safe option for the first round of the night.

The weather for the evening was balmy so we took full advantage of going all out in their alfresco style ‘strip’ garden while soaking up the social atmosphere of Duke Street.

Of course all that sipping does create quite the appetite. They offer a fine selection of snacks and might I add on the healthier side which does make me one happy camper.  Lively coloured platters of carrot and celery sticks, assorted dips and breads.  They call this their four way dipping platter. You cannot go past the chicken skewers with a garlic and jalapeno mayo; hits the spot nicely.

Oh and the crispy mushroom tallegio rolls are worth giving a whirl along with a slice of their delicious home made pizzas.  Actually my advice would be to just go for it and order all of it, you can never have too many snacks!

The China town cocktail with spiced ginger beer sounded rather unusual and I wasn’t entirely sure on this combo however you cant knock something until you try it. Again presentation on point and lets just say it went down well in the end. 🙂

Obviously I had saved the best for last. The big heat. Yep, with a name like that it there is only one guess as to what the main ingredient was in this bad boy.

Chilli.

Well done.

Noir bar is also a place where you can smoke a little shisha and im not talking any old shisha here. How about one that is tobacco free and with alcohol. Now you’re talking. Coming in the form of a pure natural vapour, this is the only one of its kind in Britain and goes by the name of Airdiem.  This elegant French creation also comes with a ginger mist cocktail and after being explained how it all works, it seems as though there is quite an art to it.
