More Happy Days… 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 & 31

Some Monday inspiration from the ever so clever Roald Dahl. One of my favourite childhood writers, the British novelist was famous for many books that you all should know with your eyes closed.  The joy he bought to many children including myself with his unusual dark sense of humour and stories of the unexpected.

Willy Wonka and the chocolate Factory is definitely top of my list 🙂

I was lucky enough to miss getting saturated by the rain which had been down pouring for the last few hours and managed to catch a glimpse of the last bit of the sun for the day. Here you see the The Serpintine lake which runs through most of the park. It may be no golden sandy beach but I never take a view like this for granted especially after living on the Coast for so many years I do sometimes miss being so close to the water… Hyde Park   14 May 14

Every month on Baker Street the quarter organise a monthly food market which happens to be just down the road from my place of work. During the summer months it takes place in the Portman Square private garden and today (finally) it happened to be glorious sunny weather and perfect for a picnic in the park. The cakes below in the picture are from Cutter and Squidge which have their own market  displayed every weekend at Patridge’s markets on the Kings Road. If I had to describe them I would say they are between a soft biscuit and a brownie but not too sweet unless you go for the double chocolate salted caramel flavour like I did – a huge fan to say the least!!

With the nice weather comes plenty of picnics in the park. I enjoyed a lovely glass of vino and light snacks with a friend while laying in the long grass and enjoying the sun. Theres one thing I do love about London and that is the amount of lush gardens and parks to choose from and when the weather is decent you know all about it as half the population is gathered there trying to enjoy the most of the bit of sunshine that comes upon us only very rarely.

Gin Masterclass time and what a better way to end the week then sitting with a bunch of people learning about the history of the white spirit while equally drinking substancial amounts of it. Another smashing event organised by the lovely Emma at The Oyster Shed.  The weather bought out the droves of people all making the most of the pleasant evening on the waterfront venue.  If you want to find out more about my Friday night experience then you have to read my next post.

The shorts and thongs are out for the first time in 8 months – so much excitement for one girl I can hardly contain myself 😉 Such a beautiful, hot and balmy day, sitting on my friends roof terrace in South West London. Summer is just around the corner and im hoping these babies will be making an appearance in the months to come…..

Stay happy x
