Friday nights are Korean nights @ Bibigo

Korean food has always been something I have enjoyed eating whilst living back in Australia. The flavours and the sizzling of the BBQ meat when its bought to you on a hot stone plate makes it just that little bit more exciting to eat!

Since being in London I haven’t been able to locate a similar kind of Korean restaurant and if you don’t already know, Soho is full of them. In fact, Soho is my favourite area as far as finding a great restaurant is concerned. Well in my opinion it is anyway…. I stubbled across Bibigo which had fantastic online reviews so was keen to get involved and do the same.

Starting with a glass of white wine, we ordered the three course menu which was at a very reasonable price of £13.00

Their speciality salad was crisp and I loved the added crunchy bits of a spring roll which was tossed through. Nice touch.  The Jjim mandoo dumplings were sensational. Filled with vegetables and a lovely bit of lemon soy dressing on the side. Love a good dumpling, especially when there is a hit of chilli present.

For the main dish I went with the Bossam, which is slow cooked pork belly lined up on a thick charcoal coloured plate and dressed with a selection of kimchi or better known as shredded vegetables marinated in a succulent sauce.

Had to leave some room for dessert so we decided to share the two options which were a sweet Korean pancake and a waffle…of a GOLDFISH. Filled with traditional red bean cream, topped with a dollop of vanilla ice cream, sprinkles of almonds and fresh berries, it was light and not an overbearing way to finish the feast.

To summarise, service was exceptionally fast, staff were attentive and the food was pretty healthy which as you know, im always down for. The decor was slightly minimalistic but for the price you pay, it compensates all of that. A casual, quick and easy place to grab a bite, so why not consider this place as an option next time you’re in the area.

Happy eating! xx
