Coffee, Pizza, Soho – Must be Foxcroft & Ginger

This cosy yet industrial-chic eating space catering for the creative individuals of quirky soho is owned by a husband and wife duo, who spent over ten years launching successful restaurants before taking the plunge with their own creation using their passion, flare & innovation.  Born with a desire to find a place where you can kick back with hearty food without feeling the pressure to pay up and move on; Foxcroft & Ginger is the place they dreamed of for many years.

After visiting the Berwick Street location and hearing all about their highly reputable sourdough pizza’s I was not left disappointed or hungry.  This artisan café and bakery offers a specialist range of hand-made baked goods, serving incredible cakes, plenty of wine, kick ass brunches, the fruitiest of infused teas and freshly brewed coffee not to be laughed at. Every single ingredient is freshly made in-house, with original recipes lovingly tweaked to perfection.

I was persuaded to try the rum and poached pear cider which I have to say was better than what I expected. Im not really the cider kinda girl but I quite enjoyed sipping away on this one. The Chorizo, feta and chilli pizza took my fancy and of course I couldn’t forget a rather large serving of their house marinated olives to munch away on. No judging please 🙂

Although I wasn’t able to attempt the coffee side of things (caffeine intolerant is my poor excuse), I hear that it is taken extremely seriously, with only the finest beans imported from The Roasting Party – Has Bean and Caravan.  On another note their organic spiced mint tea is just something else and MUST be tried.  Being the tea freak I am always up for trying out all sorts of fruity loose tea leaves and ive been exceptionally lucky coming across some brilliant kinds of late.

They also have a counter glass cabinet filled with all sorts of naughty treats and I had my eyes zoned in on the home made carrot cake. Pleased to report that its just as good as mama makes so definitely gets the seal of approval.

Points to mention –

F&G are also located at Whitechapel and Old Street for all those East siders.

These guys also do corporate catering for up to 300 people.

They just recently released the first UK cruffin – a mix of a croissant and a muffin. Must get my hands on one of these next time around.

With attracting the likes of Lily Cole, Anne Hathaway and Bill Nighy, why would you want to pass up on a place such as this? Pop in and say hi, the staff are great and always up for friendly chat!

Open every day!
