Breakfast in Little Venice – Molly’s

Molly’s on Little Venice is a quaint and colourful cafe situated just a hope skip and a jump from Warwick Avenue Station and between the leafy streets of Maida Vale.

I came across the place while browsing for some where to eat a quick breakfast before heading around the corner for some volunteering work.  It seemed decent enough from other online reviews so decided to give it a whirl. The menu was the usual standard ‘English Breakfast, smoked salmon and eggs benny’ which I normally always found myself leaning towards but I was feeling slightly adventurous and needed the extra energy on this rather early start to the day. All American styled pancakes it was and to finish off with my all time favourite, a fresh healthy juice.

The food came out in a timely manner – always a good thing when you are time constrained. My plate had a decent portion of three large pancakes, freshly whipped cream, a handful of raspberries and blueberries plus don’t forget the 100% organic maple syrup. Not sure what made it ‘organic’ as it tasted no different to the normal stuff. The juice  was delivered to my table about 10 minutes after my food which is never something I am massively keen on. However the mango, pineapple, mint and ginger was a nice blend and on this occasion made up for my lack of just being patient…. please note that there was only 2 other customers having coffee at this stage so there was possibly no reason why they couldn’t have whipped this up in a matter of moments. I have a juicer – I know!

The bill came to short of just £24.00 including service charge for two people. I don’t believe it was worth anymore than this as the food wasn’t overly enticing however despite this the waitress was warm and hospitable, set in a prestigious and pleasant location and convenient to where I had to be.

Molly’s is getting 3 out of 5 from me. If your passing by and need something simple and no fussy then this is your place.
